What Is A Brand Building Blog? - We’ve been having some great time to talk about Blogging for branding – whether it’s for your career or business. Several people already had a personal blog where they talked informally about their life. However, they recognized that if they wanted to use their blog to advance their career or build their business, they would have to start a new, more “professional” blog to help build their brand.

There’s a big gap between just having a blog and having a blog that positions you as a thought leader in your field or brings in a steady stream of clients and customers.

A blog can be a lot of things. It can be about random musings or focused on anything in your personal life – like what TV shows you watch or how much you love your dog. The majority of blogs are still personal in nature and have no particular topic that they focus on.

A brand-building blog actually showcases your expertise in a particular area and focuses on articles that help others in your niche. Your blog will only help build your brand if it’s related to something in your industry or a topic that you want to be known for.

To transform your blog into a brand-building blog, you can start by doing the following:

  • Get a professional-looking theme. Premium themes are better than free ones in my opinion because they help you stand out and not look just like the thousands of bloggers who are using the same free theme. I highly recommend the beautiful and affordable designs from Woo Themes, Elegant Themes, and Themeforest.
  • Stick to one topic or niche and keep your articles focused. A big problem for new bloggers is finding one topic and sticking with it. My advice is to just start blogging regularly and see which topics come up the most – that’s probably your niche.
  • Tell your readers what you want them to do. If you want them to share your articles with their colleagues, add share buttons to your posts. If you want them to hire you as a consultant, put up a hire me page
Is your blog a brand-building one as it is now? If not, how can you begin to transform it into a marketing tool that promotes your brand?
