3 Strategies For Finding Extra Time To Work on Your Blog

Strategies For Finding Extra Time To Work on Your Blog - Most people would love to blog more often (and thereby increase traffic and readership), but complain that they just don’t have the time. Here are some strategies that I’ve used to get around that challenge and find “extra” time to work on my blog!

Strategies For Finding Extra Time To Work on Your Blog

Maximize Your Lunch Hour

If you’re gonna eat lunch at your desk anyway, do double-time while you’re sitting there! Instead of scrolling down Twitter with one hand and a pickle in the other, use your break time to draft a few blog posts while you’re sitting there.

I even keep a small notebook near me or in my purse at all times, just in case I come up with a hot blog topic idea. It really comes in handy when you only have a few snippets of free time during the day.

Stop Watching TV

People always ask me how in the world I keep the content updated on three blogs and honestly, a big part of where I get “extra time” from is because I don’t watch TV. I’m blogging while everyone else is watching Jersey Shore. And I really don’t think I’m missing out on anything.

Most people are so addicted to TV that they waste two and a half months every year watching TV when they could be making progress on their goals. The average American watches an average of 5.1 hours per day, or 153 hours of TV a month. So believe me, you’ll get much further along with building your brand online if you cut back your time in front of the boob tube and use it to work on your blog!

Leverage Your Peak Energy Times

When do you usually have the most energy to sit down and write? In the mornings? Late at night? Weekends? Whatever that time is for you, use it wisely! I generally get up to write first thing in the morning before I do anything else.

I get my best ideas out that way, plus it allows me to push out my blog posts earlier in the day. Find your peak energy times and use them to knock out at least one or two posts in one sitting and you’ll always have content for your blog.

What are some other strategies you’ve used to find extra time to work on your blog?
